Nearshoring: What China Did And What Mexico Must Do To
Join The “Manufacturer To The World” Club

With Speaker Lawrence Allen,
IERG Dallas Interim Co-Chair

Of the manufacturing that has moved out of China over the past 7 years, why has only 5% of it moved to Mexico? Please join us on April 16th for a Nearshoring discussion that looks at the nuts and bolts of what China did and Mexico must do to realize its full potential as a global manufacturer.

Takeaways:

  • China transformed itself into a finished goods manufacturer to the world. This occurred over a dramatic 40-year period with a top-to-bottom national transformation on a scale not seen since the Industrial Revolution.
  • As regionalization supplants globalization, Mexico has a once-in-a-lifetime chance at joining the “Manufacturer To The World Club.” But like China, Mexico must undergo a similar transformation. This IERG ONLINE Event will explore what China did and what Mexico must do to achieve this.
