Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer 

As BankUnited’s Chief Information Officer, Julio Jogaib leads the Technology Area responsible for co-creating and enabling the company’s strategy in the areas of cloud computing, data analytics, data governance, networks, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), Robotics Process Automation (RPA), Information Security (Cybersecurity), Fintech and Enterprise systems.

Julio has been leading the transformation of BankUnited’s business technology strategy, overseeing key initiatives; enablement of automation, establishing a modern Enterprise Service Management and the deployment of an internal services portal, and partnering with the business lines to enable the Bank’s digital transformation journey through an agile enterprise framework. 

Additionally, Julio is responsible for building the Enterprise technology architecture to quickly leverage the benefits of emerging technologies; AI, Cloud Services and Web Services via Application Program Integration (APIs). 

Julio has more than 35 years of experience in Information Technology.  Prior to BankUnited, he held several executive positions at Citigroup (Citibank) for 25 years, both in the US and Latin America — working across the globe.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electric/Electrical Engineering from the Rio de Janeiro State University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security (CISSP) Professional, which is the premier certification for the Information/Cyber Security arena.

Edmundo is a former Global executive at Citi (Citigroup) where he was a Division Chief Technology Officer/Architect, one of seven globally, responsible for driving the strategic direction and investments in Information Technology, Risk Management and Information Security for Citi’s businesses -- spread across 122 countries. He was responsible for architecting and developing several global programs at Citi and was one of the founding members responsible for building a global shared services organization and a branchless internet financial services startup organization.  

Edmundo gained deep insights in the Venture Capital (VC) arena by advising, over several years, a NYC VC focused on startups.  He started his career at American Express’ Latin American Division.

Edmundo is the founding Principal of sentaire Partners, a management consulting firm with financial industry expertise and functional competency in Performance Improvement & Optimization, Risk Management, Digital Strategy & Transformation and Program Management.  sentaire Partners clients are primarily in the financial Services industry (domestic and international) focused on engagements linked to delivering Real Results for its clients.
