Solving Complex Problems Creatively with Design Thinking

As Albert Einstein stated many years ago, "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” We live in a world in which Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA) have become the norm and the speed of change is unprecedented. Design Thinking is a process for creative problem solving and innovation boosting, which is centered on human values. Its process which encompasses empathy, collaboration, ideation, and fast, sequential prototyping reduces risk and produces revolutionary results. The process can be used both to identify the core problem affecting an organization as well as paths for solving it. Steve Hevesi will guide you through the process and will present a case study to illustrate.

Stephen (Steve) Hevesi is a passionate leader, entrepreneur, advisor, and executive leadership coach whose main areas of interest are innovation, strategy, leadership development, and change management. Steve earned his MBA in International Business from INSEAD in France and his BA in Communications and BS in Marketing Management from Syracuse University.

Born in Peru, Steve was exposed to a diverse and international cultural background from an early age. He moved to Brazil at the age of 10 and has also lived in France and the U.S. He spent 25+ years in the corporate world, many of which as a CMO in companies like Nabisco, Nike, and Novartis Brazil.

In 2008, he left the corporate world and joined bthink (a start-up focused on strategic design) as a partner. There he was exposed to Design Thinking and provided organizational design consultation services with a focus on innovation and shopper marketing.

In 2017, Steve moved to Plano, Texas. He continues as a partner at b-think, and is an Executive Leadership Coach, helping executives and teams maximize their leadership performance.
